Asbestos Bulk Analyst

We are looking to add an experienced P401 Qualified Asbestos Laboratory Analyst to our current team. The role will initially be based in our Whitburn lab with a view of moving to the Glasgow / Lanarkshire area once lab has been finalised. This is a part-time role with flexible working times to suit.

The Asbestos Bulk Analyst will be responsible for analysing and identifying asbestos-containing materials within building materials and producing accurate reports to clients. All analysis and reporting will be carried out to meet the requirements of ISO:17025. The Analyst should be able to work effectively alongside surveyors and clients.

Qualifications / Skills

• BOHS P401 qualification in Asbestos Identification or equivalent
• Proven record of good score in AIMS
• A minimum of 6 months experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory as a qualified asbestos bulk analysis
• Proficient in the use of a microscope for asbestos fibre identification
• Good knowledge of HSE asbestos guidance, regulations, and standards
• The candidate should be computer literate with Office 365, Microsoft Word and Excel experience
• The candidate must possess good attention to detail, communication skills (both written and verbally) with the ability to manage and organise their own workload effectively
• Follow health and safety guidance within laboratory
• Retake periodic refresher training
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
