Asbestos Bulk Analyst

We are looking to add an experienced P401 Qualified Asbestos Laboratory Analyst to our current team based in Whitburn This is a full-time role but part time flexible work will be considered. The role for Asbestos Bulk Analyst is located in Whitburn, West Lothian.

The Asbestos Bulk Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and identifying asbestos-containing materials within building materials and producing accurate reports to clients. All analysis and reporting will be carried out to meet the requirements of ISO:17025. The Analyst should be able to work effectively alongside surveyors and clients.

P402 surveying experience would be an advantage.

Qualifications / Skills

• BOHS P401 qualification in Asbestos Identification or equivalent
• Proven record of good score in AIMS
• A minimum of 1-year experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory as a qualified asbestos bulk analysis
• Proficient in the use of a microscope for asbestos fiber counting and identification
• Good knowledge of HSE asbestos guidance, regulations, and standards
• The candidate should be computer literate with Office 365, Microsoft Word and Excel experience
• The candidate must possess good attention to detail, communication skills (both written and verbally) with the ability to manage and organise their own workload effectively
• Follow health and safety guidance within laboratory
• Retake periodic refresher training
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
