Description:
Army of Creatives introduces Lewisham's young people to local creative professionals and organisations, showing that a creative career is achievable. LEAN will recruit and train 30 diverse creative professionals to deliver 80 interactive career workshops in schools. Building on our 2024 pilot, 40 Year 10 students will participate in two group work experience programmes, delivered by local visual arts, craft and theatre organisations to further explore creative industries career pathways .
Responsibilities
- Take the lead in the planning, organisation, management, monitoring and evaluating of the Army of Creatives Project, project plan working closely with the LEAN director and ensuring project objectives identified in the ACE application are addressed and building on the model of 2024 programme
- Collate and produce a summary report of evaluation data from the workshop programme and work experience week for funders and support an external evaluator to document on the process and effectiveness of the group work experience programme with stakeholders
- Be responsible for the financial management of the AoC projects and activities including budget monitoring, financial controls and day to day financial administration.
- Work closely with schools, youth groups, artists and others delivering arts and cultural activities for children and young people in Lewisham to deliver the project and to ensure that LEAN maintains and develops close links with the arts and cultural education sectors in Lewisham.
- Contribute to LEAN’s partnership planning and fundraising for future AoC programmes including compiling reports to project funders
- ·Undertake marketing activities for the designated project and activities, including web-site and social media updates and the development of publicity materials.
- Contribute to recruitment of and then oversee temporary freelance staff and artists engaged for the project by the LEAN Director
Qualifications
- A strong record in successfully producing arts and cultural learning projects, from initiation through to implementation and evaluation.
- Experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships and partnerships with other arts organisations, schools, artists, stakeholders and statutory bodies.
- Direct experience of facilitating activities with children and young people and overseeing other freelance contractors
- Be committed to principles of equity, inclusion and diversity and to removing the barriers to access and progression for children and young people and for the artistic community that supports them.
- Have enthusiasm and commitment to arts and cultural participation for children and young people, understanding the value and impact of creative engagement for their personal and social development and life chances.
