The position of Area Sales Manager has opened up off the back of a well-established member of the team of 10 years + departing. The patch you are walking into was his. With a huge client base already established this a fantastic opportunity to take over and continue the growth and success of the area. Selling into the independent dealer network providing passenger tyres from budget, mid-range to premium. However, we cannot stress enough this is not a tyre ‘rep’ role. You will need to possess the ability to provide a consultative approach when working with your dealers giving valuable insights to how they can market and improve their sales. You’ll be doing this:

  • The general work week will usually consist of 4 days out on the road with typically 3 average appointments a day. These tend to last 1-2 hours giving you enough time to provide the consultative service required.
  • Developing and implementing added value business plans for your independent retailers.
  • Consulting and providing the best service to your customers whilst driving sales and growth of your patch.
  • Keeping up to date reports of your pipeline and relaying this to management.

 

And you’ll need this:

  • Knowledge of the tyre market is essential. Ideally you will have a background in tyre sales of some aspect.
  • An understanding of what it takes to run a business. As you will be consulting with your retailers to provide valuable insights on where they can improve.
  • If you understand marketing this will be beneficial to support your retailers.
