Approved Electrician

Description:

Enerveo, one of the UK's leading contracting businesses, is seeking an Approved Electrician / Electrician to join their Highways team in Taunton, Somerset. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining and installing street lighting and other highway electrical equipment. This role is crucial in helping reduce energy consumption and carbon footprints, contributing to smarter and greener cities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation & Maintenance: Carry out installation, repairs, and maintenance of street lighting infrastructure, including lanterns, cables, and control panels.

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical issues and implement solutions to maintain uninterrupted street lighting operations.

• Testing & Inspection: Ensure all street lighting equipment complies with safety regulations and performance standards.

• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency call-outs such as power outages or faulty lighting.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, inspection reports, and inventory management using a tablet device.

• Health & Safety Compliance: Follow strict health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

• Team Collaboration: Work with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Requirements for Success:

• Essential:

  • Electrical background with NVQ Level 3 and AM2 qualification

  • City & Guilds 2391 qualification (or equivalent)

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Comfortable working at height using a MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform)

  • Full UK Driving Licence

• Preferred ("Nice to Have"):

  • IPAF training for working at heights

  • Knowledge of 18th Edition wiring regulations

  • Completion of G39 Electrical Safety training for public lighting installations

  • HGV Class 2 Licence
