Apprentice Civil Engineer

As an Apprentice / Trainee Engineer, you will be working closely with expert project teams that will provide you with ongoing and valuable mentorship/practical support in the development of your skills and long term career in the civil engineering profession.

This Apprentice / Trainee Engineer role will enable you to hone and develop your skills and knowledge as an Engineer through exposure to site and office activities alongside the specialist project teams. Your day release at University will provide you with a firm foundation and technical understanding/expertise in civil engineering principles. With a Civil Engineering degree at the end of your studies to show for your efforts, it will be the first hand, practical experience that truly sets you apart from other graduates and gives you the platform for a long and successful career in the industry.

Whilst working and studying as an Apprentice / Trainee Engineer, day to day you will be involved in practical site activities to advance your skills in all aspects of site engineering, project management and project planning, including but not limited to:
 

• Site Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality for all site activities
• Reviewing and interpreting project drawings, specifications for site based activity / engineering.
• Setting out and surveying works on site
• Supervision of works on site including labour, plant and subcontractors.
• Keeping accurate records, including a diary, of all site activities.
• Taking off and ordering of materials.
• Daily and weekly planning of site works including assisting in the production of Risk Assessments, Work Package Plans, Inspection Test Plans and other documentation.
• Day to day management of sub-contractors and engineers as required
