Howdens Joinery is excited to offer an apprenticeship opportunity for aspiring Business Developers to join their award-winning apprenticeship scheme. As an Apprentice Business Developer, you will undergo on-the-job training while working towards achieving a Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship. This program spans 12 to 15 months, providing you with the skills, experience, and support to build a long-term career in business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers, providing high-quality customer service.
- Support the sales team in generating and chasing leads.
- Focus on customer account management and expanding the company’s customer base within the building trade.
- Promote Howdens products, sales periods, and depot events using creative marketing materials.
- Regularly contact depots and lead banks via telephone and customer engagement tools.
- Proactively generate new accounts, repeat business, and qualified leads.
- Process customer sales, ensuring accurate pricing, delivery dates, and stock requirements.
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Good customer service skills with a target-driven mindset.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Right to work in the UK and relevant supporting documentation.
- No prior experience required for the apprenticeship role.
The Apprenticeship:
- Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner (Intermediate Apprenticeship).
- Support and training provided by Howdens’ in-house Learning & Development Team, along with external training providers.
- A 15-month program with a minimum 12-month learning period and end-point assessment.
- Support provided for apprentices without Level 1 English and maths qualifications to achieve this before completing the apprenticeship.
