Description:

We have an exciting career opportunity for an Applications Specialist to join our Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry Division, supporting customers, sales, and service teams across the UK and Ireland. This position has been created due to ongoing business growth and product development.

As the Applications Specialist, your key focus will be to support the application of Bruker's mass spectrometry systems, working closely with the local sales team, assisting with pre- and post-sales activities, providing service support, offering LC-MS/MS application assistance, conducting customer training, and attending meetings and conferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical application support to customers, helping them fully utilize their instrument investments.
  • Assist with post-sales support, including troubleshooting remotely and at customer sites.
  • Deliver high-level customer training and continuous support to ensure customer success.
  • Support demonstration activities of mass spectrometry solutions in Bruker’s demo lab or at customer sites.
  • Process data for sample evaluations, generate result reports, and provide feedback to customers.
  • Actively participate in conferences and exhibitions, interacting with customers, preparing posters, and supporting user meetings and seminars.
  • Willing to travel extensively within the UK/Ireland (up to 70% of the time) and possibly internationally for training, meetings, and instrument demonstrations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related field with a focus on proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, MALDI, or MALDI imaging.
  • Proven practical experience with mass spectrometry technology and chromatographic separations.
  • In-depth understanding of LC-MS/MS and its role in chemical and biological analysis.
  • Experience with MALDI MS applications and development is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers.
  • Proficient in MS Office and mass spectrometry processing software platforms.
  • Strong customer support skills through email, phone, and web seminars.
  • High customer orientation with problem-solving ability.
  • Flexibility, teamwork, self-motivation, and commitment to the role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
