Application Development Officer

 

Description:

We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced, proactive, and motivated individual with strong software development skills to join the Joint ICT Service. The team delivers high quality ICT services for Bolsover, Derbyshire Dales and North East Derbyshire District Councils.

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting, maintaining, and developing solutions across three Councils as part of a fantastic team of supportive, experienced, and knowledgeable technical professionals. The post holder will be a key contact for all projects and advice relating to software development, system integration and CRM applications.

Currently there is the opportunity to work intermittently from home or from our alternative offices, however this is dependent on the service needs. You will need to be able to travel to supported sites when required.

The ability to work to tight deadlines to be organised is essential as is self-motivation and a willingness to take on new challenges in a rapidly changing technical environment. Candidates should be flexible and possess excellent communication skills.

Due to this post having administrative privileges, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Basic level Disclosure and Barring Service check.

To be successful you will need:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in a range of technologies and programming. Languages such as C#, VB.NET, Javascript, SQL Server or Visual Studio.
  • Ideally you have experience of working within a Public Sector organisation.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of managing projects.
  • Experience of system integration and data management from multiple sources.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of CRM systems.
