Description:

Warwickshire County Council is seeking an Advanced Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities Team. This role involves providing expert care and support to children with disabilities and their families. You will assess needs, develop care plans, and ensure the delivery of high-quality services. You will also handle more complex caseloads and provide guidance to less experienced team members. The position is part of the Review Hub, and the council is currently part of the Families First for Children Pathfinder Programme, offering an exciting opportunity to shape the future of children's social care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments when families are referred to children and family services
  • Undertake assessments in line with legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with other professionals in a multi-agency setting to achieve the best outcomes for children and families
  • Provide guidance to less experienced colleagues within the team
  • Ensure a child-centered approach, always prioritizing the voice of the child
  • Develop and manage care plans and provide ongoing support
  • Participate in safeguarding practices and ensure welfare is promoted
  • Liaise with families and other stakeholders to ensure service delivery

Key Requirements:

  • Social Work degree and registration with Social Work England
  • At least 3 years post-qualification experience in children and family services
  • Proven experience supporting children with disabilities and their families
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in social care
  • Full UK driving license

Additional Requirements:

  • Professional Social Work qualification and SWE registration
  • Ability to work in a multi-agency environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload with a child-centered approach
