Description:
Affinia, a UK Top 50 Accountancy firm, is seeking an Accounts Manager to join its growing Accounts department in Harlow. The Accounts Manager will oversee a portfolio of approximately 60 clients, ranging from high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and businesses, working closely with the Associate Director and senior management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee a client portfolio, ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, working collaboratively with Directors and senior management.
- Supervise team members and manage workflow, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Work closely with other departments across the firm to provide a seamless service.
- Review statutory accounts, VAT returns, management accounts, and tax returns.
- Address client queries, provide advisory support, and assist Directors with ad hoc projects.
- Play a role in business development, building a network of professional contacts to drive growth.
- Monitor work progress and billing requirements, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Support and train staff, fostering professional development and maintaining high service standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in accountancy practice.
- Previous experience in a senior or assistant manager role within an accountancy firm.
- Experience in managing a client portfolio and handling a broad range of financial services.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and CCH software (preferred).
- Excellent communication and client management skills with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly.
- Full UK driving license (desirable) due to occasional client visits.
