Description:
To act as an Account Manager in the best interests of the company. A revenue producing role, to manage and provide a quality service in respect of growing AJG clients/agents demands and needs in order to obtain optimum account, retention and revenue growth. Ensuring clients’ interests are central to decision making and in line with AJG values.(Staff development responsibilities).
Your Role:
- Generate new business income in line with AJG principles and values
- Market customer business, typically of moderate complexity, retain and grow existing accounts
- Increase existing business outcome by identifying new and additional exposures, recommending solutions, promoting other products and maintaining relationships
- Co-ordinate and attend strategy meetings prior to renewal, review clients/agents demands and needs for new and existing contracts
- Identify additional business opportunities and introduce clients to other product specialists
- Maintain and develop contacts with clients and/or potential clients. Meet key client personnel on a regular basis in order to develop productive and enduring client/agent relationships
- Inform clients/agents of risk management options and liaise with internal risk managers in order to increase our service offering with clients/agents
- Receive requests for quotes, and develop / maintain a network of agency and/or broker relationships
- Identify and analyse client exposures to recommend and/or design risk transfer/financing products
- Identify appropriate carriers, send requests, negotiate favourable quotes and prepare recommendations
- Work with the technical operations function to ensure good credit control is maintained and bad debt is kept to a minimum
- Maintain a broad knowledge of relevant markets and changes across the industry in order to keep clients/agents informed and provide effective risk management advice in line with AJG principles and values
- Comply with AJG Professional Standards Manual in accordance with statutory requirements for role with specific attention, but not limited to Managing Client information, Whistle Blowing, Treating Customers Fairly
- Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and Gallagher’s shared values, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our business.
Qualifications
Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Cert CII/ Dip CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) desirable
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
- Robust knowledge of general insurance (London Market / Lloyd’s and Industry) products and services including underlying legal principles and practices
- Good understanding of general insurance product lines and risk management, is essential for advisory remit
- Insurance and risk management experience desirable
- Confidence to advise and negotiate with clients using business acumen
- Client confidentiality and discretion maintained
- Strong relationship and stakeholder management
- Forward planning (ability to anticipate future outcomes)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to manage time and to work on a number of projects concurrently
