Description:
Day to day you’ll be planning and leading pitches to acquire new clients, with the support of the senior management, planning, production and content teams.
Client liaison will be a critical part of this role so we’re looking for a natural relationship builder with first rate rapport building talents. You’ll enjoy building and leading a team of account managers, helping them grow and develop and deliver outstanding work for Speak Media across all channels including digital, social, video and print.
This is a really exciting opportunity for an established account director or someone at this level who loves relationship building and thinking on their feet, and all that comes with driving new and existing business relationships within a communications agency.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Play a pivotal role in the acquisition of new customers from building awareness of Speak Media’s brand USP among leading marketers in the network (ours and yours), through to delivery of successful pitches
- Devise and execute key customer strategies and account plans in line with our own business goals, ensuring sustained growth for the agency
- Build, develop and lead a team that can deliver our medium to long term vision
- Lead our client initiatives, from briefing, strategy and planning, through to resourcing and final delivery of projects
- Help to shape Speak Media’s longer-term strategy based on the market knowledge and insights you’ve acquired
- Report on all aspects of client activity (team performance / pipeline / work in progress / opportunities) at monthly management meetings
- Ensure ‘best practice’ content creation/strategy/marketing processes are followed, and set the standard for the quality of output for the team to follow

About you:
- You’ll already be an Account Director level (or Senior Account Manager ready to step up) within a communications team setting (agency / in-house).
- B2B/B2C Experience
- You’ll be an expert when it comes to driving and developing client relationships.
- A high level of written and spoken communication will come naturally to you.
- A keen eye for detail and a confident, autonomous approach.
- Strategic and commercial mind-set.
- Relationship management - a minimum of 4 years in a role managing and growing customer accounts, ideally supporting senior corporate comms teams in FTSE 100 firms.
- Project management (multi-channel) – an Excel power-user also familiar with other standard project management/workflow software and processes
- Data analysis – good understanding of key tools used to assess and drive content strategy, including, Google Analytics, Adobe and others as required
- Self-motivated, organised and great at managing workload and deadlines
- Solid understanding of the budgeting process and clear on the levers that will improve margins for our business
- Excellent understanding of content trends and best practice including SEO, social and content marketing

- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or similar) - intermediate to advanced.
